Fawkner Occasional Childcare

A nurturing, community-based childcare and education centre.

Learning & Environment

The Early Years Learning Framework for Australia (Belonging, Being & Becoming) and the Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework forms the basis for our curriculum

Play-based learning

Our play-based learning program allows for a mixture of intentional and child-initiated learning where educators follow and extend the strengths, skills and knowledge of each child through careful and flexible planning. Children’s learning is ongoing and each child progresses in different and equally meaningful ways

Exploration & Discovery

Opportunities for uninterrupted play and exploration are ensured for children to learn in the way that comes most naturally to them; through action, discovering more about themselves and the world around them by touching, manipulating, exploring and testing the environment around them.
